The problem we're solving
If you've ever had your car serviced, you've probably had this experience: you drop it off for an oil change, and you pick it up with a £600 bill because the mechanic "found something". Sometimes it's real. Often, it isn't.
The UK car servicing market is worth £20 billion a year. And drivers consistently report it as one of the industries they trust the least - behind even banks and insurance companies. There's a reason for that.
Main dealers charge premium prices because they can. Their labour rates are inflated, their parts are marked up 200-300%, and their service "menus" are designed to maximise revenue, not value. The average UK driver overpays by around £400-£600 every two years compared to fair-market pricing.
Independent garages can be cheaper, but quality varies wildly. Some are excellent. Some will absolutely take you for a ride. And how would you know? You're a driver, not a mechanic. The information asymmetry is the entire business model.
What we built
YourServiceCentre.com is a curated network of independent garages across Yorkshire (and soon, nationwide) operating under a single transparent pricing model. We do three things differently:
1. Fixed prices, locked at booking
When you enter your reg and see your price, that's the price you pay. Full stop. No "while we had it on the ramp" upsells. No surprise bills. No fuel and consumables charges added at the end. If your service is £169, you pay £169.
If our mechanic genuinely spots something that needs fixing - worn brake pads, a tyre below the legal limit - they'll text you photos and a quote. You decide whether to fix it. We never proceed without your approval.
2. Mechanics aren't paid commission
This is the biggest one. In most garages, mechanics earn a percentage on the parts and labour they sell. So their financial interest is in finding problems. Our garage partners get paid a fixed rate per service - whether they sell you extras or not. The incentive to upsell disappears.
3. We don't take a cut from the garage
Most marketplace platforms (think Servicing Stop, Fixter) take 20-30% commission from the garage. The garage then pads the price to make it work. Drivers end up paying more.
Instead, drivers pay us a transparent platform fee on top of the garage rate, clearly itemised on every invoice. Our garage partners earn their full price. They can afford to do good work. Drivers know exactly what they're paying for.

Who we are
YourServiceCentre.com is built and operated by Validus Media Ltd t/a Unavoidable Marketing, a Leeds-based digital marketing and SaaS company that has spent 14 years working with UK trades businesses.
Our founder Andrew Heppinstall ran the marketing for dozens of independent garages, plumbers, electricians, and roofers across Yorkshire. He watched honest tradespeople struggle to find customers because the big aggregator platforms took too much commission, while customers got fleeced by the loudest, most aggressive operators. YourServiceCentre.com is the answer to that problem.
